Frequently Asked Questions

Questions & Answers

 1) What is the difference between a National CCIM Membership and a local North Texas CCIM Chapter Membership?

A National CCIM Member, Candidate, or Designee, will receive the member rate on any classes offered by the CCIM Institute. There is a long list of benefits to a National Membership that you can find HERE. If you are planning on getting your Designation and completing more than one CI class, it is worth becoming a CCIM Candidate.

Our local North Texas Chapter Membership gives you reduced membership rates at our Chapter luncheons and events, access to free continuing education classes, and the opportunity to network with the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s top real-estate-related professionals. We currently average 100+ attendees at our monthly meetings. It's a great place to network where members can exchange ideas, services, commercial properties, prospective buyers, and tenants and help one another solve local and national real estate challenges.

2) Do I need to be a National Member to take a CI Class?

No. You can take CI classes as a non-member at the full-priced rate or Realtor rate without becoming a National Member.

3) Do I need to be a local North Texas CCIM Chapter Member to take a CI Class?

No. You can take a CI Class without being a local North Texas CCIM Chapter Member, but membership is encouraged! Becoming a member of your local CCIM Chapter is key to becoming part of your local commercial real estate community. It's a great place to network where members can exchange ideas, services, commercial properties, prospective buyers, and tenants and help one another solve both local and national real estate problems.

4) I’m taking the CI Classes, does that automatically classify me as a Candidate?

No, you are technically just a student taking the courses. The only way to qualify as a Candidate Member is to apply for this membership type at the CCIM Institute level. Being a Candidate Member with CCIM Institute allows you to then apply for Candidate Membership at the local Chapter level. Until then, you are classified as an Affiliate Member with the North Texas CCIM Chapter.

5) How much does it cost to take a CI Class?

The total cost of the CCIM Designation program depends on whether you are a member and how long you take to complete the program. You can learn more about non-member and member prices at the CCIM Institute website.
